Volunteer work is one of the strengths of the North West Resource Center for Newcomers. Volunteers participate in a number of programs and services by generously offering their time to help newcomers adapt to the many aspects of life in New Brunswick. These dynamic and enthusiastic people collaborate in welcoming newcomers, offering support and language courses, and conducting intercultural rapprochement activities.
We offer various ways to become a volunteer. Most can be adapted to the needs of newcomers and to the expectations and desires of volunteers themselves.
As a volunteer, you will not be asked to offer a roof, money or food, just to donate some of your time to help newcomers become a part of our community.
For more information on how to become a volunteer, please contact the NWRCN coordinator.

Pairing is one of the leading services offered by the North West Resource Center for Newcomers. Intercultural pairing is the practice of facilitating the interaction between locals and people from other cultural backgrounds.
Pairing aims to do away with mutual mistrust between the population of the welcoming society and newcomers. On the one hand, pairing raises awareness within the community about the advantages of cultural diversity and, on the other, it contributes to the integration of newcomers by offering opportunities for involvement in the region's social and community life.
Along the six months of pairing, the NWRCN conducts the training, coaching and monitoring of the welcoming and newcomer twins. All the members of the welcoming society who are interested in participating in becoming a twin are encouraged to request an interview.
